About me
I am a Canadian-Afro-Caribbean-Celtic, PhD candidate at the University of Victoria, educator, facilitator, and mother of four unschoolers who is a grateful visitor on Coast Salish lands. As someone who has the experience of living with hyphen/hybrid identities that cross multiple intersections of race, class and ability, I embrace the role of bridge builder, striving to find ways to highlight commonalities without erasing differences. In my work as a researcher and educator, I generate ideas and asks questions that centre healing, relationships, and belonging in education, so as to create equitable and safe spaces for all people to experience meaningful learning in the context of our own self-identities
